¿Por qué hacer una prueba de nivel para acceder a un curso de inglés e impartido con el Método Callan en Callan School of English?

Cuando te planteas aprender inglés y buscas una academia de idiomas para matricularte en alguno de sus cursos deberás hacer una prueba de nivel. Enfrentarte a este tipo de pruebas te puede resultar abrumador si sientes que te estás enfrentando a un examen y ¡sin haber estudiado!, si además te invade la timidez o te cuesta interrelacionarte puede transformarse en un gran reto. Sea o no este tu caso, sabemos que la idea de tener que responder preguntas en un idioma que no es el tuyo puede ser un handicap, pero recuerda que no estás ante la presión de un examen que tienes que aprobar sí o sí. Plantéate que el resultado de una prueba de nivel de inglés siempre es positivo, nunca negativo. Utilizamos esta herramienta para evaluar tu nivel de inglés y aconsejarte el stage que hará que evoluciones en tu aprendizaje.

 

¿Por qué necesito hacer una prueba de nivel de inglés?

La prueba de nivel está diseñada para descubrir lo que sabes, indicarnos lo que necesitas aprender y ver en qué punto debes comenzar para progresar en tus destrezas lingüísticas.
Si no te enfrentas a esta prueba, es muy probable que comiences en un nivel que no te corresponde, bien porque es inferior y te resulte aburrido o bien porque es superior y no entiendas nada convirtiéndose en una barrera en tu proceso de aprendizaje.

Con esta herramienta estableceremos tus conocimientos de gramática, vocabulario, expresión y comprensión del idioma y descubriremos la etapa en la que iniciarás tu aprendizaje. Te recordamos que si comienzas en un nivel más bajo del que te compete no aprenderás nada nuevo y si lo haces en uno demasiado alto, te perderás la mayor parte del material que tendrías que haber aprendido anteriormente y tu inglés tendrá unas lagunas que te impedirán avanzar.

 

¿Qué hago si no entiendo a la profesora o profesor?

Antes de que comience la prueba, el profesor o profesora te explicará el funcionamiento de la escuela y las características del curso que deseas realizar. Durante la prueba te hablará en inglés, no te preocupes si habla demasiado rápido o no entiendes algo de lo que te dice, sólo pídele que hable más despacio y te repita lo que ha dicho para que puedas entenderlo.

 

¿Qué puedo esperar durante la prueba?

En una prueba de nivel de Callan School of English te haremos una serie de preguntas con diferentes tiempos verbales como el presente perfecto, el pasado simple, los condicionales, etc. Estas preguntas están diseñadas para averiguar tu dominio y comprensión de las estructuras gramaticales y nos indicarán en qué nivel te encuentras. Recuerda que este proceso lo realizamos para que obtengas los mejores resultados una vez que comiences tu curso.

Durante el desarrollo de la prueba valoraremos tu capacidad de escucha y escritura, a través de un texto dictado que revisaremos y analizaremos para conocer tu capacidad de comprensión tanto escrita como oral y las facilidades o dificultades que encontraste en su elaboración.

 

¿Qué pasa después de la prueba de nivel?

Al final de la prueba de nivel, te indicaremos cuál es tu nivel de inglés, te explicaremos por qué estás en esa etapa, veremos tus fortalezas y debilidades y podremos aconsejarte el tipo de curso que mejor se adapte a ti.

 

¿Cómo debo prepararme para una prueba de nivel en inglés?

No existe una forma concreta de prepararse una prueba de nivel. Cuando vienes a nuestra academia queremos ver qué conocimientos tienes interiorizados, cuáles no y cómo fluyen. No tiene sentido que estudies antes de enfrentarte a este tipo de pruebas porque no reflejará tu dominio del idioma, así que ven a hacer la prueba con los conocimientos que ya tienes y sin necesidad de preparártelos.

¿Por qué hacer una prueba de nivel para acceder a un curso de inglés e impartido con el Método Callan en Callan School of English?

Quan et planteges aprendre anglès i cerques una acadèmia d’idiomes per a matricular-te en algun dels seus cursos hauràs de fer una prova de nivell. Enfrontar-te a aquesta mena de proves et pot resultar aclaparador si sents que t’estàs enfrontant a un examen i sense haver estudiat!, si a més t’envaeix la timidesa o et costa interrelacionar-te pot transformar-se en un gran repte. Sigui o no aquest el teu cas, sabem que la idea d’haver de respondre preguntes en un idioma que no és el teu pot ser un hàndicap, però recorda que no estàs davant la pressió d’un examen que has d’aprovar sí o sí. Planteja’t que el resultat d’una prova de nivell d’anglès sempre és positiu, mai negatiu. Utilitzem aquesta eina per a avaluar el teu nivell d’anglès i aconsellar-te el stage que farà que evolucions en el teu aprenentatge.

 

Per què necessito fer una prova de nivell de anglés?

La prova de nivell està dissenyada per a descobrir el que saps, indicar-nos el que necessites aprendre i veure en quin punt has de començar per a progressar en les teves destreses lingüístiques. Si no t’enfrontes a aquesta prova, és molt probable que comencis en un nivell que no et correspon, bé perquè és inferior i et resulti avorrit o bé perquè és superior i no entenguis res convertint-se en una barrera en el teu procés d’aprenentatge.

Amb aquesta eina establirem els teus coneixements de gramàtica, vocabulari, expressió i comprensió de l’idioma i descobrirem l’etapa en la qual iniciaràs el teu aprenentatge. Et recordem que si comences en un nivell més baix del que et competeix no aprendràs res nou i si ho fas en un massa alt, et perdràs la major part del material que hauries d’haver après anteriorment i el teu anglès tindrà unes llacunes que t’impediran avançar.

 

Què faig si no entenc a la professora o professor durant la prova de nivell?

Abans que comenci la prova, el professor o professora t’explicarà el funcionament de l’escola i les característiques del curs que desitges realitzar. Durant la prova et parlarà en anglès, no et preocupis si parla massa ràpid o no entens alguna cosa del que et diu, només demana-li que parli més a poc a poc i et repeteixi el que ha dit perquè puguis entendre-ho.

 

Què puc esperar durant la prova?

En una prova de nivell de Callan School of English et farem una sèrie de preguntes amb diferents temps verbals com el present perfecte, el passat simple, els condicionals, etc. Aquestes preguntes estan dissenyades per a esbrinar el teu domini i comprensió de les estructures gramaticals i ens indicaran en quin nivell et trobes. Recorda que aquest procés el realitzem perquè obtinguis els millors resultats una vegada que comencis el teu curs.

Durant el desenvolupament de la prova valorarem la teva capacitat d’escolta i escriptura, a través d’un text dictat que revisarem i analitzarem per a conèixer la teva capacitat de comprensió tant escrita com oral i les facilitats o dificultats que vas trobar en la seva elaboració.

 

Què passa després de la prova de nivell?

Al final de la prova de nivell, t’indicarem quin és el teu nivell d’anglès, t’explicarem per què estàs en aquesta etapa, veurem les teves fortaleses i febleses i podrem aconsellar-te el tipus de curs que millor s’adapti a tu.

 

Com haig de preparar-me per a una prova de nivell en anglés?

No existeix una forma concreta de preparar-se una prova de nivell. Quan véns a la nostra acadèmia volem veure quins coneixements tens interioritzats, quins no i com flueixen. No té sentit que estudiïs abans d’enfrontar-te a aquesta mena de proves perquè no reflectirà el teu domini de l’idioma, així que veuen a fer la prova amb els coneixements que ja tens i sense necessitat de preparar-te’ls.

¿Por qué hacer una prueba de nivel para acceder a un curso de inglés e impartido con el Método Callan en Callan School of English?

The first thing that you will do before enrolling in an English academy is a level test.This can be daunting for some people as they feel as if they are taking an exam without having studied for it. They may also be shy and find it difficult to speak with strangers.
The thought of having to answer questions in a language other than their own can also make taking a level test an unwanted task.
In reality there is nothing to worry about when it comes to a level test. Remember that you are not under any pressure to perform, you are not taking an exam, therefore the result of the test is not a pass or a fail. A level test is carried out by professionals to assess your level of the language and put you in a level that best suits you.

 

Why do I need to take a level test?

A level test is done for your benefit, not the school’s. It is designed to discover what you already know and what you need to learn. This makes it very clear where you need to begin your studies with the school you have chosen. If you didn’t take a level test, you might begin your studies in the wrong level and therefore the course would be a waste of time.

The test is designed to establish how well you know the grammar and how much vocabulary you have. This indicates the stage at which you should begin. If you start too low, it is wasteful because you will not learn anything new, but if you start too high, you will be missing a lot of material that you need to learn before getting to that level and so your English will have holes in it.

 

What do I do if I don’t understand the teacher?

If the teacher is speaking in English and you don’t understand something they have said, don’t worry, just ask them to repeat it. Before the test begins he or she might explain a few things about the school or the course you wish to take. If they say something you didn’t catch or you are finding they are talking too quickly, just ask them to speak more slowly or ask them to repeat it.

 

What can I expect during the test?

During the test you will be asked a number of questions which use different tenses, for example the present perfect, past simple, conditionals etc… These questions are designed to find out how well you understand the grammar. The teacher will know from your answers which level to put you in. Remember this is so you get everything that you need from your course.

You may have to write something such as a dictation. This is when the teacher reads a passage which you must listen to and write as they are speaking. A dictation will help the teacher to know how well you understand spoken English.

This will be corrected by the teacher when the dictation has finished and the type of mistakes and number of them will show how much you understood and what you found difficult.

 

What happens after the level test?

At the end of the level test you will be told your level and often the teacher will explain why he or she has put you in that level. This means that you know your strengths and weaknesses.

 

How should I prepare for a level test?
