El nivel de inglés necesario en Reino Unido después del Brexit

A partir del 1 de enero las condiciones para trabajar, estudiar y vivir en el Reino Unido son mucho más duras y restrictivas y es que el período de transición, después de la salida del país de la Unión Europea el pasado 1 de febrero como consecuencia del Brexit, ha terminado.

En virtud de la nueva ley de inmigración, de ahora en adelante los ciudadanos comunitarios deberán acreditar, entre otros, un nivel intermedio de inglés (B1 como mínimo) si quieren establecerse en el país. Este es uno de los requisitos indispensables para obtener un visado de trabajo ya que supone 10 de los 70 puntos necesarios que exige el nuevo sistema de inmigración por puntos. También será necesario contar con una oferta laboral y tener un trabajo acorde con la formación que se acredite.

 

Así pues, si tienes intención de mudarte al Reino Unido y crees que todavía no llegas a ese nivel, es hora de ponerse al día con el inglés. Si por el contrario no has estudiado nunca inglés no te desesperes, pues nunca es tarde.

Como vemos en la siguiente tabla de equivalencias, un nivel B1 se corresponde, principalmente, con los niveles (stages) 5 y 6 del Método Callan.

Recordemos las competencias y habilidades que vamos a adquirir con el B1:

  • Poder elaborar textos coherentes y simples sobre temas en los que estamos interesados o nos resultan familiares.
  • Hablar de experiencias, deseos, aspiraciones y eventos, explicar planes y justificar opiniones.
  • Ser capaz de lidiar con imprevistos que surjan en los viajes.
  • Entender los puntos principales de textos estándar sobre temas que nos son familiares, ya sean sobre estudio, trabajo, u ocio.

A partir de l’1 de gener les condicions per a treballar, estudiar i viure al Regne Unit són molt més dures i restrictives, i és que el període de transició després de la sortida del país de la Unió Europea el passat 1 de febrer a conseqüència del Brexit ha acabat.

En virtut de la nova llei d’immigració, d’ara endavant els ciutadans comunitaris hauran d’acreditar, entre altres, un nivell intermedi d’anglès (B1 com a mínim) si volen establir-se al país. Aquest és un dels requisits indispensables per a obtenir un visat de treball ja que suposa 10 dels 70 punts necessaris que exigeix el nou sistema d’immigració per punts. També serà necessari comptar amb una oferta laboral i tenir un treball d’acord amb la formació que s’acrediti.

 

Així doncs, si tens intenció de mudar-te al Regne Unit i creus que encara no arribes a aquest nivell, és hora de posar-se al dia amb l’anglès. Si per contra no has estudiat mai anglès no et desesperis, perquè mai és tard.

Com veiem en la següent taula d’equivalències, un nivell B1 es correspon, principalment, amb els nivells (stages) 5 i 6 del Mètode Callan.

Recordem les competències i habilitats que adquirirem amb el B1:

  • Poder elaborar textos coherents i simples sobre temes en els quals estem interessats o ens resulten familiars.
  • Parlar d’experiències, desitjos, aspiracions i esdeveniments, explicar plans i justificar opinions.

  • Entendre els punts principals de textos estàndard sobre temes que ens són familiars, ja siguin sobre estudi, treball, o oci.
